Introduction   |   The Royal Promenade   |   Mary with her Duke   |   The Curtsy
Krewe Parade at the Ball   |   The Royal Court
Final Presentation of the Royal Court of Mecca   |   Families and Friends

This is a short narrative of a Carnival Ball from one of the many Krewes parading at Carnival Time in New Orleans. There are many, many parades and each Krewe gives a ball to honor of the King and Queen.

"In this ball, I was a Maid for the Krewe of Mecca. Everyone is entitled to 15 minutes of fame, well, this is mine. It was wonderful and it was a night I shall always remember. I was so unglued about being a Maid, and when the realization came about that I was indeed a Maid, well, it was a wonderful experience. The dress is still at home packed in the attic and I am sure that when my grandchildren grow up they will wear it proudly as I once did."
